⚖️ The initiator of the document was the pro-russian Slovak National Party (SNS). Petition organizers for the cancellation of anti-russian sanctions were also present in the session hall.
👥 The resolution was supported by 51 out of 76 deputies, including all SNS members, the majority from Prime Minister Robert Fico’s Smer-SD party, some deputies from the coalition Hlas-SD, and several non-affiliated deputies. The opposition boycotted the vote.
📉 The resolution states that sanctions against russia increase energy prices, disrupt supply chains, and harm the competitiveness of the Slovak economy.
⚠️ The document rejects expanding restrictions because they may negatively affect industry, the economy, and the welfare of Slovak citizens.
🤝 The Parliament called on the government to protect national economic interests and oppose international actions that harm the country’s economy.
📢 SNS leader Andrej Danko called the resolution historic and emphasized that it is the first such document among EU countries recognizing the harm of anti-russian sanctions to the Slovak economy.
