🛡️ Europe’s largest port — Rotterdam — has begun preparing for a potential NATO military conflict with russia. According to the Financial Times, port authorities are already reserving space for vessels carrying military cargo in case of escalation.

🗣️ This was reported by Boudewijn Siemons, the CEO of the Port Authority. According to him, the port is coordinating with neighboring Antwerp to ensure logistics for British, American, and Canadian military forces.
🚢 In May 2025, the Dutch Ministry of Defense officially announced its readiness to provide berths for NATO ships carrying weapons. It is expected that military vessels will arrive at the port 4–5 times a year and remain there for several weeks.
📦 Rotterdam is a strategic facility stretching 42 km, handling 436 million tons of cargo annually and receiving over 100,000 vessels, including inland shipping.
🧭 The port already has experience handling military cargo — including during the Gulf War in 2003 and the Cold War — although it previously lacked dedicated infrastructure for such operations.
⚙️ The neighboring port of Antwerp also plays a key role in military logistics — it regularly receives shipments for American troops in Europe and processes 240 million tons of cargo annually, making it the second-largest port in the EU.
