🗣️ NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, speaking at the NATO Public Forum in The Hague, questioned russia’s willingness to engage in constructive peace talks on Ukraine due to the composition of its delegation.

📜 Rutte noted that the russian side often appeals to historical narratives instead of concrete negotiation proposals. “I’m not talking about negotiations led by a russian historian who goes back thousands of years and shifts the blame. That is not a serious basis,” he said.
🤝 He cited Ukraine as an example, which already demonstrates a responsible approach by sending a high-level delegation to talks in Istanbul.
⏳ Rutte acknowledged that the exact end date of the war is still unknown but emphasized the importance of ensuring long-term support for Ukraine so it can hold a strong position during future genuine negotiations.
🕊️ “This does not mean a peace agreement will happen soon. But we must guarantee that Ukraine can continue fighting and have the strongest possible position when real negotiations begin,” the Secretary General said.
🌟 He also expressed hope that one day a just and lasting peace will be achieved, and putin will no longer dare to seize Ukrainian territories.
