🗣️ “No expectations regarding an invitation in The Hague have been raised, and we haven’t even heard such demands from the Ukrainians themselves,” Budrys noted, adding that no breakthrough decisions should be expected at the Washington summit either.
🎯 The Lithuanian minister emphasized the importance of keeping attention on Ukraine, which continues to fight against moscow’s aggression, and highlighted the shared security space between NATO and Kyiv.
🤝 Lithuania plans to emphasize Alliance unity and the crucial role of the United States in deterrence and defense. One of the key topics will be the direct military threat posed by russia.
💵 Budrys also mentioned that a significant issue at the summit will be the increase in defense spending, particularly in the context of President Donald Trump’s pressure on allies to raise their defense budgets to 5% of GDP.
🌍 Other topics of the meeting include the conflict between Israel and Iran.
