🤝 Support for Ukraine includes:
- supplying weapons;
- investing in Ukraine’s defense industry;
- integrating Ukraine into the European market.
🏭 According to Frederiksen, supporting Kyiv is a direct defense of Europe. She also emphasized the importance of learning from Ukraine, which managed to build a modern military industry in a short time.
🚫 Denmark is initiating a complete ban on the import of russian gas into the EU, which should become part of a new wave of tougher sanctions against russia.
🌍 Another key point is the EU’s eastern expansion — for Ukraine, Moldova, and the Western Balkan countries. This step is seen as a strategic response to threats from the East.
⚠️ “russia will pose a real threat to Europe within the next 2–5 years. Cutting defense spending in the past was a mistake — we must not repeat it,” Frederiksen stressed.
📅 Denmark will hold the EU Council presidency from July to December 2025.
