Smilianskyi’s official salary in 2024 was over 11.7 million UAH before taxes (about 600,000 UAH per month). He receives an additional 15% for work with state secrets but has declined bonuses since the beginning of the war. Part of the taxes is paid in the USA (2.1 million UAH), and the rest in Ukraine (over 2.3 million UAH).
Smilianskyi emphasizes that setting an example of honest leadership is important for the public sector: expensive cars and property of predecessors demotivate employees and harm the company’s reputation.
Under his leadership, parcel sorting has been automated: 24 centers were launched in 22 months even during the war, ensuring 98% on-time delivery. Delivery to London takes 3 days, to New York 5–7 days, and to small towns in Ukraine about 2 weeks.
The company is also developing parcel lockers that will operate without a mobile app or network signal, which is critically important for remote areas and during combat operations.
Smilianskyi actively communicates with the public through social media, responds to comments and complaints, and personally oversees logistics, increasing customer trust in “Ukrposhta.”
