Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized the operation “Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, calling it a “dead-end project.”

According to Araghchi, there is and cannot be any military solution to a political crisis. He also stated that negotiations between Iran and the United States are progressing due to mediation efforts by Pakistan.
“Events in Hormuz clearly show that there is no military solution to a political crisis,” the minister said.
He also warned the United Arab Emirates and the United States against escalation, stating that they could be drawn into a “dangerous situation” due to the actions of third parties.
