According to him, brutal attacks on Kyiv and other cities are causing new civilian casualties and significant destruction.
“These brutal attacks on Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine show this. More civilians killed, many injured, and significant damage caused,” the NATO Secretary General emphasized.
Rutte also stressed that Ukraine is demonstrating a willingness for peace, including through active engagement with partners. He noted that representatives of 32 NATO allied countries visited Kyiv, which he called a “strong sign of continued support” for Ukraine from the Alliance.
During the meeting, the situation on the front line and current challenges for Ukraine were discussed. Rutte also noted that partners have already allocated nearly $60 billion under the PURL program, which provides for the purchase of weapons for the Ukrainian army from the United States.
