📱 In Ukraine, there is a proposal to require online platforms like OLX and Prom to automatically withhold taxes from individuals who systematically sell goods or services. Instead of the 18% personal income tax, a preferential rate of 5% plus a 1.5% military levy will apply.

💬 This was explained by Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the parliamentary Finance Committee. He noted that the document has not yet been reviewed by the committee but a broad discussion involving business, government, and the public is planned.
⚖️ Hetmantsev emphasized that the draft law does not introduce new taxes but only a mechanism for automatic payment of existing ones, targeting those who have evaded paying the 18% personal income tax and 1.5% military levy on online sales for years.
💡 An important benefit is that instead of the 18% tax, individuals who are not entrepreneurs will pay only 5%, significantly reducing the tax burden.
📊 Registered entrepreneurs (private entrepreneurs) will not fall under the new rules since they already pay taxes officially.
🔍 The tax service has already started inspections: recently, more than 3,000 inquiries were sent to citizens about the origin of funds on bank cards. Over 162 million UAH was identified as potentially hidden income from commercial activities.
⚠️ Some actions by tax authorities have been criticized, including by Hetmantsev, who considers them incorrect and damaging to the reform’s reputation. He urges distinguishing one-time personal transfers from systematic business activity.
📈 Since March, all payments through fiscalized services come with receipts automatically sent to the tax service, making tax evasion more difficult.
