🛑 According to Zelenskyy, Budapest has tried to interfere in Ukrainian affairs “in dozens of different ways.” He noted that the Ukrainian side stopped the illegal issuance of passports in Zakarpattia even before the full-scale war, and most of these issues were resolved “quietly, among themselves.”
🕵️♀️ Zelenskyy paid particular attention to the activities of Hungarian military intelligence KNBSZ. In May 2024, Ukrainian special services exposed an agent network that had been operating since 2021. Since the beginning of 2024, this network has been actively interested in military matters, including the deployment of Ukrainian air defense systems, the positions of military units, and the sentiments of Zakarpattia residents regarding the possible appearance of peacekeeping forces.
📸 The President emphasized that the last transfer of information from KNBSZ agents was recorded on March 25, 2024. The Ukrainian side possesses photographs and video recordings of meetings organized by representatives of the Hungarian National Security Military Service on Hungarian territory. Zelenskyy stressed that all evidence, including payments to agents, is documented and can be published if necessary.
❓ “How should we react to this during a war?” Zelenskyy rhetorically asked, addressing the Hungarian publication. He also noted that NATO representatives denied any requests to Hungary for the collection of such data.
🤝 At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that he does not personally blame Prime Minister Viktor Orbán but places responsibility on the Hungarian special service. He also noted that Orbán uses the Ukrainian issue for his own purposes before elections, which could lead to “the radicalization of Hungarian society and its anti-Ukrainian sentiments” and “does Putin a favor.”
🖼️ “If he is ready for normal relations, we will find a framework for it,” Zelenskyy stated. However, he condemned the use of his image in the Hungarian election campaign, calling it unethical and unacceptable.
