🇺🇸 Ben Wallace, in a column for The Telegraph, harshly criticized US President Donald Trump, noting that he never takes responsibility for failures and quickly disappears when his deals turn out to be empty.

⚖️ Wallace writes that for Trump, Ukraine was just “another mineral deal,” without any geopolitical or strategic importance. Meanwhile, putin understood from the start whose side Trump was on.
🤝 According to Wallace, Trump pressured Zelensky to meet with putin, but he did not come. As a result, the US is now blocking Zelensky’s participation in the NATO summit. Wallace even suggests that Trump might have gone to the Victory Day parade in Moscow.
🛡️ The key question, according to the former minister, is what happens next. Europe and Ukraine need to prepare to act independently because Ukraine is not doomed without the US. Ukrainians fight well and have critically important intelligence not only from America.
🌍 Wallace also warns that the new US administration might recognize the borders of Ukraine changed after the 2014 invasion, and if Trump recognizes Crimea as Russian, it will be a troubling signal for Northern Europe.
⚔️ According to him, putin is expanding military presence in the region, and the US is allegedly losing interest in Europe. Putin likely believes that Trump would not risk sending American soldiers if parts of Estonia, Lithuania, or Finland are captured.
📉 Wallace emphasizes that major European states are not ready for war, and their funding efforts are insufficient. The failure of talks in Istanbul may become a reason for Trump to “turn the page,” which would only please putin.
