The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has reported that modernized Russian ballistic missiles, capable of changing their flight trajectory and using decoys, are reducing the effectiveness of Patriot systems in Ukraine. This was reported by The War Zone.

According to intelligence, Russia has recently been using missiles with maneuverable trajectories and electronic decoys more frequently, making them harder to intercept. Ukraine currently has five Patriot batteries: three from the U.S., one from Romania, and one jointly supplied by Germany and the Netherlands.
These are mainly “Iskander-M” and KN-23 missiles — weapons that can deviate from a standard ballistic trajectory, making it much more difficult to predict their movement and destroy them in time.
Experts note that even with additional interceptors, Ukrainian forces are not always able to neutralize such targets, and the technological improvements of Russian missiles pose serious challenges for Ukraine’s air defense.
