On Thursday, September 18, as part of repatriation efforts, 1,000 bodies were delivered to Ukraine, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (CHTPW).

In the near future, experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and investigative institutions will conduct the necessary examinations and identification of the repatriated deceased.
The repatriation efforts were organized under the joint coordination of the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the State Emergency Service, and other security and defense sector structures. Special thanks were extended to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.
The Armed Forces personnel ensured the transportation of the bodies to state specialized institutions, organized the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement representatives, and conducted forensic examinations within the Ministry of Health system.
The Coordination Headquarters assured that the identities of the deceased will be established as quickly as possible.
