“I think we are in very good shape—the main thing is that we have to win this, win quickly, but win,” Trump said. According to him, many commentators are already talking about the end of the conflict, and now only the timing of when the U.S. will stop the operation is being decided.
The President emphasized that Washington seeks to prevent a renewed threat from Iran and believes the country needs new leadership capable of rebuilding the state. “We don’t want this to grow again, and ideally we would like to see someone who knows what they are doing—in other words, someone who can build the country,” he added.
Earlier that same day in Kentucky, Trump said that the war had effectively ended at the start of the operation: “We won. We won, it was over in the first hour,” without providing specific evidence. At the same time, his administration has expressed varying assessments regarding the duration of hostilities, and the president himself did not answer whether he considers it realistic for the war to end within four weeks.
