🗣️ U.S. President Donald Trump has called on the NFL’s Washington team to restore its historic name “Redskins,” threatening restrictions if they refuse.

🏟️ According to Trump, if the team doesn’t drop its current name “Washington Commanders,” he won’t approve the deal for a new stadium in the capital:
“I can impose restrictions on them: if they don’t bring back the old name… I won’t sign the stadium deal in Washington,” he said.
📅 The new stadium is scheduled to open in 2030.
📜 The team played as the “Redskins” from 1933 until 2020, when it dropped the name under public pressure. Activists had deemed it offensive to Native Americans. The club was later renamed the “Commanders.”
