President of the United States Donald Trump criticized The New York Times after the publication of a November 25 article that discussed signs of his aging and health condition.

In his statement, Trump called the newspaper’s journalists “scum from a failing paper” and said the article was deliberately negative. The President reminded readers of his convincing victory in the 2024 election, won in all seven swing states, as well as a “complete blowout” in districts across the country.
He emphasized that during his time in office he:
• ended eight wars,
• set 48 new stock-market records,
• ensured a “great” economy,
• returned global respect to the United States,
• and lowered inflation — which, in Trump’s view, had been record-high under the previous administration — “back to normal.”
Trump stated that fabricated accusations about him losing energy are untrue:
“They know it’s not true. Just like most of what they write about me.”
The President also called The New York Times “the enemy of the people,” and the article’s author, Katie Rogers, a “third-rate journalist.” He added that he recently underwent a “perfect medical exam” and a “comprehensive cognitive test,” which he said he passed “with flying colors.”
The NYT article to which Trump responded claimed that the President is showing signs of aging: his workday has shortened, and the number of his public appearances between noon and 5 p.m. has noticeably decreased. The authors also pointed to possible signals of declining health.
