U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he would consider it a “major insult” to the country if he is not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, reports The Hill.

He emphasized that if his 20-point ceasefire plan in Gaza proves effective, it would mark his eighth success since the beginning of his presidency.
“If it works, we’ll have eight in eight months. That’s pretty good. No one has ever done that. Will you get the Nobel Peace Prize? Absolutely not,” Trump said.
At the same time, he added that he wants the entire country to receive the award, as “nothing like this has ever happened before.”
