U.S. President Donald Trump said he is looking forward to meeting Chinese leader Xi Jinping, which is expected to take place on May 14–15 in Beijing.

“I am going to meet President Xi in two weeks. I am looking forward to it. In fact, it will be a very important trip,” Trump said.
According to the publication, during the talks the sides plan to discuss key issues in bilateral relations, including trade, the situation around Taiwan, and the Iranian issue.
American and Chinese officials have been preparing this summit for several months, including discussions on creating a new bilateral mechanism to manage economic ties between the two countries.
The meeting is expected to become one of the most important diplomatic contacts between Washington and Beijing in recent times.
