🤝 “As one of the largest donors to the Ukrainian army, Poroshenko said he feared that banking restrictions would slow the war effort by impeding his financial assistance to front-line troops, which he says amounts to about $1 million a week,” the newspaper reports.
✈️ At the same time, the publication’s journalists point out that a travel ban, related to sanctions, prevents Poroshenko from lobbying for Ukraine’s support in Europe and Washington.
🇺🇦 Petro Poroshenko also expressed concern that sanctions against him could be used to discredit Ukrainian democracy, precisely when the country desperately needs Western support.
💬 “I don’t like the idea that the Poroshenko case could harm Ukraine in Ukrainian-American or Ukrainian-European relations,” he commented on the situation.
