🇺🇸 The statement marked a notable shift in the policy of the Donald Trump administration, which previously avoided directly blaming Moscow, according to The Telegraph.
💪 The document emphasized support for Ukraine in defending its territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence, and right to exist, as well as in its pursuit of a just and sustainable peace.
⚠️ The G7 countries warned of possible increased sanctions pressure if the Kremlin does not cease hostilities, reserving the right to consider all options for intensifying pressure.
🤝 At the same time, despite the firm official stance, allies expressed disappointment over Trump’s recent phone call with putin, during which he avoided direct warnings and called for increased trade with russia.
🇬🇧🇫🇷🇩🇪🇵🇱 Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Poland supported the updated US approach and agreed on a tough response in case of further aggression.
🚫 The EU and the United Kingdom have already announced preparations for new sanctions, and the G7 countries agreed on freezing russian assets and introducing new restrictive measures.
