📊 Senators Richard Blumenthal (Democrat) and Lindsey Graham (Republican) reported that their bill to impose primary and secondary sanctions has already been supported by 81 out of 100 senators.
⏳ Meanwhile, the bill has not yet been brought to a vote, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune awaits further instructions from the White House.
⚖️ “These sanctions will be imposed if russia refuses to participate in good-faith negotiations to establish lasting peace with Ukraine,” the statement from Blumenthal and Graham says.
💰 The bill also provides for the introduction of 500% tariffs on imports of goods from countries that buy russian oil, gas, uranium, and other products.
🔥 Lindsey Graham emphasized in the Senate: “Russia is the aggressor. Russia must stop the bloodshed. It is time to raise the cost of this war for putin.”
