According to him, the administration of President Donald Trump will sell weapons to NATO allies for as long as necessary to achieve a peace agreement. Subsequently, these weapons will be transferred by Alliance partners primarily to Ukraine.
Whitaker emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs this support both for air and missile defense and for obtaining offensive systems necessary to continue resistance and prevent further occupation by Russia.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining unity within NATO and strengthening the defense capabilities of the allies. According to him, it is precisely the strength and cohesion of the Alliance that should become the key guarantee of peace and prevent a new invasion of the European continent after the war ends.
