Tusk emphasized the importance of preserving Ukraine’s territorial integrity, highlighting that this is not only a matter of solidarity with a neighbor but also a key security issue for Poland itself.
“Poland and our European partners must clearly understand: borders cannot be changed by force, and Russia must not be allowed to benefit from its invasion of Ukraine,” the Polish prime minister stated.
He added that the West, including European countries, will not accept Russia’s demands, which effectively mean the seizure of Ukrainian territories.
According to Tusk, some parts of Putin’s territorial proposals are “one-sided” and completely unacceptable for Ukraine.
The prime minister also warned the Kremlin against the impunity of challenging other states’ borders and cited Poland’s history as an example of the principle: “Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.”
