🎬 A scandal erupted on social media over the film “Russia Goodbye” from the “Kvartal 95” studio, which tells the story of a woman from Horlivka who ended up in Uzhhorod. PR and political technologies expert Oleksandr Bukhtiyar, originally from Mariupol, criticized the film for its portrayal of residents of temporarily occupied territories.

⚖️ According to Bukhtiyar, references to Mariupol and some moments in the film are unacceptable, and he is ready to do everything possible to bring the directors and producers to legal responsibility.
🚶♀️ The plot of the film tells the story of a woman from Horlivka who lived under occupation for ten years, becoming part of Russian propaganda. After the liberation of her city, she ends up in Uzhhorod and forces her son to hide his origins.
🏙️ “Has Horlivka stopped being a Ukrainian city? Why is that? Uzhhorod is Ukrainian, but Horlivka is not?” Bukhtiyar exclaims. He also emphasizes that such moments in the film do not reflect reality, as people in Mariupol and Donbas never spoke this way in Ukraine.
🔥 Oleksandr appeals to the filmmakers, asking whether they understand the scale of the tragedy at Azovstal, whether they realize what people in the occupied territories went through, and why patriotic views could not be openly expressed in those territories.
🎥 The film “Russia Goodbye” will be presented in March, and its director is Oleksii Kyriushchenko, who previously worked in Russia.
