The planned meeting between President Donald Trump’s special representative, Steve Witkoff, and the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, did not take place. This was reported by The Economist journalist Oliver Carroll. Journalist and political strategist Viktor Ukolov also commented on the situation.

Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that Yermak might not return to Ukraine at all. According to him, this may be connected to potential political and investigative consequences amid corruption scandals that are gaining momentum.
“Who will now tell NABU about the 40 robbers? I think all members of Ali Baba’s group now have a chance to make a deal with the investigation and reveal everything. But this will only be possible for those who go first — the rat race has begun!” Ukolov wrote.
The situation is unfolding against the backdrop of increased U.S. attention to Ukraine’s anti-corruption processes, especially after Donald Trump’s administration demanded greater transparency from Kyiv regarding the use of international aid.
