📌 “We are not calling for the separation of Moldova. This decision must be made by the EU member states themselves if they wish,” he emphasized.
🤝 Mercier stressed that the European Commission aims to support both countries on their path to membership — politically, technically, and financially.
🔑 According to him, the Commission is actively working to enable member states to positively assess the opening of the first negotiation cluster — on fundamental issues — for both Ukraine and Moldova.
🛡️ “We firmly stand on the side of Moldova and Ukraine,” added the spokesperson.
