The European Commission continues work on a new, 19th package of sanctions against Russia. The package is currently in preparation and has not yet been submitted for consideration.

Deputy Chief Spokesperson of the European Commission Olof Gill stated that in developing the sanctions, the EU is working closely with international partners to ensure their maximum effectiveness and prevent circumvention.
“We are working on the 19th package in coordination with our partners. Special attention is being given to accelerating the phase-out of Russian fossil fuels, combating the shadow fleet, and controlling transit through third countries,” Gill noted.
