At the beginning of 2026, the European Commission will present a legislative proposal for a complete ban on the import of Russian oil into EU countries, European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jørgensen reported.

According to him, the EU plans to completely phase out Russian gas and oil. The legislative initiative on oil should be adopted as soon as possible, no later than the end of 2027.
