Europe will not abandon support for Ukraine despite the escalation of the situation in the Middle East; however, this requires pressure and systematic argumentation. This position was expressed by Bundestag member Roderich Kiesewetter.

According to him, the issue of Ukraine is constantly raised at various levels. He noted that the United States remains the key supplier of military aid to Kyiv, although the volume of support is currently limited. At the same time, European countries, in particular Germany, France, and Greece, are also providing assistance both to Ukraine and to Middle Eastern states.
Kiesewetter emphasized that Russia will try to take advantage of the shift in international attention to another region, as already happened after the events of October 7, 2023. In his opinion, there is a risk of a repeat situation when public attention and political decisions are diverted from Ukraine.
The German politician stressed that Ukraine remains the first line of defense for the European Union and NATO. He also warned that Russia poses a real threat and will attempt to use the current situation to increase pressure. Therefore, according to him, Europe should not reduce but rather increase its support for Ukraine.
