Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson sharply rejected the accusations of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who claimed that in Sweden criminal groups allegedly involve children in murders due to lenient laws.

According to Orban, as cited by the German publication Die Welt, the country’s “rule of law is collapsing,” and the police allegedly arrested over 280 underage girls for murders.
Kristersson responded that these claims are completely false. He described Orban’s words as “disgusting lies, driven by desperation ahead of upcoming elections,” and reminded that it is the Hungarian government that faces serious criticism from the EU for undermining the rule of law.
