According to him, the Cuban regime is a communist dictatorship “whose days are numbered.” Graham added that the Iranian government, which he called the “mothership of international terrorism,” will soon collapse, and its leader, the ayatollah, is “as dead as a rock.”
American analysts note that pressure on Cuba from the administration of President Donald Trump increased after the fall of Nicolás Maduro’s regime in Venezuela. The U.S. fuel embargo has exacerbated the island’s economic crisis, leading to shortages of food and medicine.
In addition, the Trump administration demands that the Cuban government sever relations with countries and groups that Washington considers hostile, including Hezbollah and Hamas.
Graham emphasized that political uncertainty in the region makes Cuba vulnerable to external influence and called for continued pressure until the “complete fall of the regime.”
