The so-called military-civilian administration of the Kharkiv region, established by the Russians in the temporarily occupied territories of Kharkiv region, has opened a criminal case against Serhiy Zhadan.

Ukrainian writer, public figure, and serviceman Serhiy Zhadan shared a screenshot from the occupiers’ Telegram channel.
“I love my job,” Zhadan commented on the news.
According to occupiers’ websites, the so-called investigative department of the so-called internal affairs directorate of the Kharkiv region’s military-civilian administration has initiated the criminal case.
The writer is accused of financing terrorism, participating in an illegal armed formation, engaging in actions aimed at discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation, and financing sabotage activities.
The grounds for the accusations include, among other things, Serhiy Zhadan’s enlistment in the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartiya” in March 2024, the creation of the Ukrainian informational and musical online station “Radio Khartiya,” fundraising for the military, and regularly organizing charity concert tours.
“The suspect openly reports his unlawful activities on his personal social media pages. Zhadan has now been declared wanted. The alleged crimes carry a sentence of up to life imprisonment,” the occupiers added.
