The Russian command on the Pokrovske axis is massively concealing real combat losses by registering dead soldiers as those who have deserted their unit.

This was reported by the partisan movement “ATESH,” citing its agents inside the 30th Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.
According to the underground network, after suffering significant losses, the command systematically enters killed soldiers into separate “AWOL” lists. These lists already contain hundreds of names. Soldiers are openly told that registering the dead as “AWOL” is easier than explaining to relatives where the body is.
This approach is used both for those who disappear during chaotic assaults in urban directions and for soldiers eliminated by blocking units. According to ATESH agents, the number of fake “AWOL” cases has increased several times over the past year.
“From these lists, you could form an entire brigade,” the movement notes.
The partisans emphasize that such a scheme completely destroys trust within the units. Soldiers understand that in the event of their death, they may be declared deserters. This causes panic, aggression, and further decline in morale. With each new assault, a deterioration in discipline and reduced combat capability of the units is recorded.
