Since 2022, more than 70 sabotage attacks linked to Russia have been recorded in the United Kingdom. The targets of the attacks include warehouses, logistics hubs, telecommunications nodes, and businesses, particularly those supporting Ukraine. The goal is economic losses, disruption of supplies, and creating an atmosphere of vulnerability in Europe’s rear, reports the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.

According to the Center, the Kremlin recruits teenagers and young men through social networks, turning them into perpetrators of arson and explosions. After the mass expulsion of Russian intelligence officers following the Skripal poisoning in 2018, Russia lost its personnel networks and switched to a more flexible model.
European intelligence services warn: the new tactic is more dangerous since untrained perpetrators often operate near residential areas and warehouses, creating a high risk of mass casualties.
