🇨🇿 Czech President Petr Pavel warned that the United States’ refusal to participate in ceasefire negotiations on Ukraine would only play into the Kremlin’s hands. This was reported by Euractiv.

🤝 Speaking after a meeting with EU leaders, Pavel emphasized that U.S. coordination remains insufficient and also commented on Donald Trump’s stance.
💬 “I see Trump’s statements as an expression of frustration that things are not going according to his plan — he hoped to quickly reach an agreement with putin, declare peace, and restore economic ties with russia,” Pavel said.
⏳ According to him, moscow is deliberately stalling, hiding behind promises to prepare a “memorandum” that would supposedly lead to negotiations. This, in Pavel’s opinion, could delay the process for months.
🔧 The Czech President called on Europe for stronger and more unified economic pressure to force russia into real negotiations. He also noted that new U.S. plans for 500% tariffs on oil and gas for countries trading with the rf caused a nervous reaction in moscow.
💡 “The time has come for a serious conversation with our American allies — it is necessary to develop economic and financial steps that russia will truly feel,” Pavel concluded.
