🇺🇸 U.S. President Donald Trump is trying to use the war in Ukraine for financial gain by offering Kyiv an unfavorable deal on the extraction of natural resources.

📑 According to journalists, under this document, the U.S. would receive a significant share of revenues from Ukrainian natural resources, including oil, gas, coal, metals, and critical minerals.
💵 The terms of the deal stipulate that the United States would have the right to 50% of the profits from the sale of hydrocarbons, as well as near-total control over metals and other extractive materials in Ukraine.
🚧 Additionally, America would be able to receive funds from any infrastructure related to these resources—roads, railways, ports, pipelines, etc. All royalties and profits would be directed toward repaying military debt to the U.S. until the total amount reaches at least $100 billion.
⚖️ This approach is fundamentally different from the Lend-Lease policy of World War II. Back then, the U.S. provided military aid to 38 countries worth $50 billion, receiving only $8 billion back, while most of the equipment remained with allied nations or was sold at reduced prices.
🔍 Journalists compare Trump’s modern agreement to the unequal treaties that Western imperial powers imposed on China in the 19th century. The only difference is that those agreements were signed after military victories, whereas this one is being imposed on an ally fighting for survival.
📢 “Ukrainians are concerned about Trump’s demand to pay reparations to the U.S., but it’s important to understand that this is not war compensation—it’s an attempt at war profiteering. The U.S. president is exploiting the situation for personal gain,” the publication emphasized.
