There is a serious problem with Patriot missiles: stocks in Germany are nearly depleted. Despite the transfer of a small number of missiles from Germany and other NATO countries, their quantity remains insufficient for the daily defense of Ukraine against Russian attacks.

DW analyst Roman Honcharenko noted that the missile shortage was already being discussed before the start of the US-Israel operation in the Persian Gulf. At the Munich Conference in February, during President Volodymyr Zelensky’s participation, it was reported that Germany’s missile stocks were almost exhausted.
Recently, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius delivered five Patriot missiles to Ukraine, and another 30 came from partners in other NATO countries. However, 35 missiles are very few for daily protection against attacks.
Honcharenko added that in the coming weeks, the situation will depend on developments around Iran and US needs, and Germany will likely again act as a leader pressuring Europe and NATO to increase assistance to Ukraine.
