NATO has significantly accelerated its pace of arms production and now holds an advantage over Russia, announced Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte. He named the ongoing Russian war against Ukraine and the broader coalition that includes China, North Korea, and Iran as the main threats to global security.

Rutte emphasized that member states are launching dozens of new production lines and modernizing factories, resulting in the highest rate of weapons manufacturing in the past decade. The Alliance is focusing on three key priorities: large-scale expansion of ammunition production, development of innovation, and stronger cooperation between the military, industry, and scientists.
According to him, Russia previously produced more ammunition than all NATO countries combined, but the situation is now changing — the Alliance has already surpassed Russia in output. Rutte also stressed the need not only to produce more but also to speed up deliveries and diversify solutions — from high-quality air defense systems to affordable interceptor drones.
NATO highlights the principle of “peace through strength” and urges allies to maintain technological superiority by expanding production capacity and operational readiness for a long-term response to threats.
