Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki expressed support for the decision of current President Karol Nawrocki to veto social benefits for Ukrainians.

He believes that unemployed Ukrainians should not receive the 800+ aid, but would make an exception for mothers with many children whose husbands are fighting in Ukraine. Morawiecki also called for “strict registration” of Ukrainians in Poland, citing cases of people receiving social benefits while not actually living in the country.

The former prime minister also supported the idea of equating the Bandera symbol with Nazi symbolism. According to him, this would help Poles and southeastern neighbors understand the brutality of the Volhynia massacre. He called for the immediate deportation of those who use Bandera symbols without understanding the historical context.
