Macron made this statement following an informal summit in Belgium, reports Le Figaro. He emphasized that reestablishing contact with the Russian leader should be done cautiously, and the priority now is clearly defining the demands for the Kremlin.
The French president noted that preparing for dialogue takes time and involves discussing key priorities, including security guarantees for Ukraine, economic development, and Europe’s security architecture.
Macron stressed that the goal of the negotiations is not only to ensure Ukraine’s protection but also to safeguard the interests and prosperity of European countries by creating a stable security system on the continent.
