🙏 During a meeting with representatives of the Eastern Catholic Churches, the newly elected Pope Leo XIV was handed lists of Ukrainian defenders held in captivity by russia. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

🤝 With the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Holy See and the Order of Malta, a representative of the families of the prisoners personally handed the lists to the Pontiff.
⛪ The delegation of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, led by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, was the largest and most active at the event. The Head of the UGCC congratulated the Pope on his election.
💬 In response, Pope Leo XIV emphasized:
“My heart is with the suffering and beloved people of Ukraine. Let us do everything possible to achieve a true peace as soon as possible – a just and lasting one! And may all prisoners be freed, and children return to their families!”
