🔫 lavrov repeated the usual kremlin narratives about the “persecution” of russians in Ukraine since 2014, mentioning the Revolution of Dignity, Crimea, and Donbas. He accused Kyiv of “killing” Russian speakers and oppressing the Russian language.
📚 According to lavrov, Ukraine supposedly adopted laws banning the use of the Russian language in education, culture, science, media, advertising, and daily life. He claims that people who did not want to give up their identity were discriminated against.
🌍 He also added that other ethnic minorities allegedly experienced “forced Ukrainization” — including Hungarians, Romanians, Bulgarians, Greeks, Belarusians, Armenians, and Poles.
🛑 lavrov again labeled NATO as a “non-defensive alliance” and claimed that the “presence of alliance bases in Ukraine” and its move toward NATO threatened russia’s national security. According to him, this was the reason for the so-called “special military operation.”
⚠️ At the end of 2021, lavrov said, russia demanded security guarantees but was rejected and instead saw increased arms deliveries to Ukraine. As a result, the kremlin allegedly “had no other choice” but to launch the full-scale war.
