Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Crimea is no less important for Russia’s security than Greenland is for the United States. He made this remark at a press conference summarizing the activities of Russian diplomacy in 2025, reports RIA Novosti.

Lavrov emphasized that global instability currently prevails, and many countries are trying to resolve conflicts through force rather than diplomacy, indicating a shift in the world order.
He added that Greenland is not a natural part of Denmark, but Russia has no intentions of interfering in conflicts in the region. “Neither China nor Russia plans to seize Greenland,” Lavrov stressed.
According to him, NATO is currently facing a period of challenges, and Moscow is not interested in intervening in Greenland’s affairs.
