On Monday, December 15, the Kremlin stated that the key issue in negotiations with Ukraine is a legally binding document on Kyiv’s non-entry into NATO. This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

According to him, the United States does not inform Russia in real time about the progress of negotiations in Berlin, and Moscow receives information only after they conclude.
Peskov emphasized that President Putin is allegedly open to serious decisions and opposes temporary pauses and tricks. At the same time, he called setting specific deadlines for a peaceful settlement “a thankless task” and stressed that Russia does not wish to conduct negotiations in a so-called “megaphone” mode.
