🏛️ Kellogg made this statement at a forum of the German Marshall Fund in Brussels. According to him, the “end state” of the war should include a long-term and sustainable ceasefire that would be stable for both Ukraine and Europe.
🤝 The next step, in Kellogg’s view, should be russia’s return to a conceptual equivalent of the League of Nations, where everyone works together on the future. He emphasized that this would allow people to live with the consequences of the war in the long run.
🇺🇦 Kellogg also mentioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, highlighting his historic role in the struggle for the nation’s survival. He stated that he had stressed to Donald Trump the scale of the challenges Zelenskyy is facing.
📃 In addition, Kellogg said that after reviewing the peace proposals from Ukraine and russia, he felt a “sense of confidence.” He noted that combining the approaches of both sides could make it possible to reach an acceptable “end state” and a real peace agreement.
