Russia is currently not in a strong enough position, so it should be pushed toward negotiations to end the war against Ukraine. This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas.

According to her, the peace negotiation process regarding Ukraine has effectively reached a deadlock.
“With regard to Ukraine, we see that peace talks are at an impasse,” Kallas said.
She also added that at the moment “nothing is happening” in the negotiation process.
“At the same time, we see that Russia is not in its strongest position, and we need to make efforts to bring them to the negotiating table,” she stated.
Commenting on a possible role for China, Kallas stressed that Beijing, due to its close relations with Moscow, could influence the Kremlin and help bring the war to an end.
“China, which has close relations with Russia, plays a role here that could really convince them to stop this war,” the EU diplomat emphasized.
