The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that Russia’s return to the G8 format “must certainly not happen.” She said this during a BBC News broadcast.

Kallas emphasized that any final peace plan to end the war in Ukraine must guarantee the impossibility of a new Russian invasion.
She noted that for truly lasting peace, Russia must make real concessions, comply with international agreements, and reduce its armed forces.
“You cannot just invade another country and bear no responsibility for it,” Kallas stressed, adding that this approach must become the basis of future agreements.
