He made this statement during a speech at the Ukrainian Defense Innovation Forum, held with the support of the National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industry (NAUDI).
Johnson also emphasized the importance of financial and military support for Ukraine from Western partners. He stressed that Ukraine’s issue is not about territory, but about national identity and choice — the country has chosen a path toward the West, and this must be reinforced with security guarantees and the presence of allies.
He acknowledged that a ceasefire could freeze the conflict but would not imply a compromise on sovereignty. Johnson urged global allies to show even a fraction of the courage of Ukrainians to end the war in favor of a free and independent Ukraine.
After the speech, Ukrainian veterans presented Johnson with a fragment of a Shahed drone that Russia used to attack populated areas.
