📅 This is reflected in the results of a YouGov survey conducted ahead of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.

🌍 The survey covered citizens of the U.S., the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The results showed that between 41% and 55% of Europeans consider the Third World War likely in the coming years. The same view is shared by 45% of the surveyed Americans.

☢️ According to the survey, between 68% and 76% of respondents expect the use of nuclear weapons in a new war. At the same time, between 57% and 73% believe that the Third World War will result in more casualties than World War II. Between 25% and 44% of respondents believe that this war could claim the lives of a significant portion of the world’s population.

🌐 Between 66% and 89% of those surveyed believe their countries will be involved in the war, but only between 16% and 44% in Europe are confident that their armed forces will protect them. In the U.S., 71% of respondents trust in the strength of their military.

⚠️ The most likely cause of the Third World War, according to the majority of Europeans (72% to 82%) and 69% of Americans, is russia. Islamic terrorism ranks second.

🇺🇸 Meanwhile, in Spain (58%), Germany (55%), and France (53%), many respondents believe the war could be caused by the United States.

💡 The majority of those surveyed in France (72%), Germany (70%), and the UK (66%) stated that they have sufficient knowledge about the war, considering their countries’ involvement in World War II. In Spain, where the country did not participate in the war, only 40% said they knew a lot about the combat operations.

🇺🇸 When asked about the greatest contribution to the victory in World War II, between 40% and 52% named the U.S., while 17% to 28% mentioned the Soviet Union. At the same time, 41% of Britons believe that their country made the greatest contribution.

✌️ The majority of respondents (52% to 66%) believe that NATO makes the greatest contribution to maintaining peace, while 44% to 60% consider the UN to play a significant role. The European Union was also recognized for its peacekeeping efforts.
