People’s Deputy Iryna Friz stated on Espresso that after the adoption of the law allowing men aged 18–22 to travel abroad, an uneven trend has been observed — some young Ukrainians are leaving, while others are returning to their families.

“This is positive because it allows reconnecting with young Ukrainians who are abroad for study or work,” Friz noted. She added that currently the data are still insufficient for a full analysis, and the trend needs to be monitored over the course of a quarter.
The deputy emphasized that the adoption of the resolution was a justified step that will help support family ties and contribute to keeping young people in Ukraine, particularly in the context of secondary schools and universities. According to her, the possibility of crossing the border from ages 18 to 22 already has a positive effect, although it would be preferable to extend it to 24.
Friz stressed that this step does not threaten mobilization; on the contrary, it promotes the restoration of contacts between families and young Ukrainians abroad.
